Solar Group Buy programs continued to proliferate in 2017. Solar group purchasing encourages individuals to install solar by aggregating them into a purchasing pool to obtain a reduced rate for solar systems and installation and alleviating them of much of the research and work. The Solar Central Wisconsin group buy was this year’s record-breaker with 335 kW of generation to be installed. Although final numbers are not yet complete, contracts have been signed for 152 individual systems and close to 1 MW (988 kW) of distributed solar as detailed in the table:
