The first Clean Energy Credit Union is open for business. It’s an on-line only, not-for-profit, federally insured financial institution that provides banking services of a credit union but focuses solely on lending for clean energy projects. Products and services funded range from solar electric systems, electric vehicles, and energy efficiency retrofits to net-zero energy homes and electric-assist bicycles.
The Clean Energy Credit Union is open to members or anyone who becomes a member of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) and their immediate families. ASES, the non-profit fiscal sponsor of the Clean Energy Credit Union, integrates the perspectives of science, industry, policy and citizens to achieve a 100 percent renewable energy future.
