The Focus on Energy Renewable Energy Competitive Incentive Program that closed October 22 received 77 proposals requesting $3.6 million in incentive funds. While the majority were for solar PV projects, there were 2 geothermal proposals and 1 biogas proposal. Thirty-six of the 77 applicants were local governments, schools and organizations not eligible for the 30 percent renewable energy Federal Investment Tax Credit. Projects spanned territories of 20 utilities. This spate of applications followed on the heals of $5 million in PSC Energy Innovation Grants that announced recipients in September from among the 100 applicants requesting $31.76 million dollars of funding for clean energy projects and planning.
