US EV Subsidies May Be At Risk

According to the director of the White House National Economic Council, subsidies for electric vehicles (EVs) will end possibly in 2020 or 2021. Currently, the federal government provides a tax credit of $2,500 to $7,500 for newly purchased plug-in electric cars based on the battery capacity, which begins to fade out for each manufacturer when it has sold 200,000 qualified vehicles. The White House path to curtailing current EV tax credits is unclear given that changes to the tax credits created by Congress require an act of Congress. Bloomberg
