UW-Oshkosh and Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) hosted the Solar Olympics, an annual, one-day renewable energy competition that engaged nearly 150 students from 17 Wisconsin participating SolarWise schools from Ashwaubenon and Rhinelander to Chilton and Wausau. The Olympics includes activities that combine solar with working machines like cookers, cars, and everyday products, and that test students’ knowledge of solar energy like solar-themed photos, sculptures, building design, and trivia. Every participant has the opportunity to gain experience with solar energy through hands-on activities and to develop teamwork and project management skills, too. For event results see WeAreGreenBay.
