Electric Scooters Bill Cleanly Coasts into Law

A new law, 2019 Wisconsin Act 11, was signed by Governor Evers that allows electric scooters of up to 100 pounds to travel at 15 mph on roads, sidewalks and bike paths subject to local jurisdiction regulations over the details. The cities of Milwaukee and Madison are formulating pilot programs to test approaches to safety and business development through rentals for this new, carbon-free, low-cost mode of transportation.
