The City of Eau Claire was awarded a SolSmart Gold designation in October 2017. The gold-level designation is the the top honor awarded by SolSmart, a U.S. Department of Energy-supported nonprofit program that connects local governments with a team of national experts who provide no-cost technical assistance to help municipalities improve their solar programs. Eau Claire was recognized for its strong commitment to encouraging a local transition to solar power.
