The City of Fitchburg held a solar celebration in May 2018 marking the completion of 362 kW across 4 solar rooftop PV installations of more than 1,000 panels on City Hall, the Library, Public Works Maintenance Facility and the West Fire station.

The project team including Mayor Jason Gonzalez, along with Alder Tony Hartman, Erika Kluetmeier, then City Sustainability Coordinator, Legacy Solar Co-op, Arch Electric and Convergence Energy. The celebration included presentations and a solar bike tour.
