Johnson Controls Headquarters Solar Energy System

At Johnson Controls Headquarters, 1,452 ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) panels generate 320,000 kWh of electricity per year, while 14,355 SF of roof-mounted PV panels generate an additional 150,000 kWh per year. One of the largest arrays in Wisconsin, the system produces the electricity used in the 112,600 SF of new buildings on the campus reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 413.5 tons per year. Thirty-four roof-mounted solar thermal collectors, totaling 1,088 SF, supply more than 30% of the hot water needed for the Power Solutions buildings.
