An overview of actions local governments can take to create a trained, equity- focused workforce is provided in Cities and Clean Energy Workforce Development, a topic brief by ACEEE. The brief identifies 37 US cities with energy efficiency and renewable energy workforce development strategies and programs. Milwaukee is among them. Their workforce policy is identified in the ReFresh Milwaukee sustainability plan complemented by energy efficiency policy. One goal is to grow their cluster of energy-efficient and clean tech companies to create local jobs and energy expertise. This is being done in partnership with M-WERC.
