Biden Administration Energy and Climate Cabinet Choices

President-elect Joe Biden announced the nominees and appointees for the top energy and environmental positions. They reflect an emphasis on clean energy jobs and environmental justice in one of the fastest growing economic growth sectors. His choices include experienced leaders: for Interior secretary Rep. Deb Haaland  (New Mexico State Representative); Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm (former Governor of Michigan); EPA Administrator, Michael Regan (Secretary of North Carolina’s Department of Environmental Quality and former air quality specialist in the US EPA); Council on Environmental Quality Chairwoman,  Brenda Mallory (environmental lawyer); Chief Domestic Climate Adviser, Gina McCarthy (former EPA Director); and Ali Zaidi (former New York Deputy Secretary for Energy and Environment), selected to be McCarthy’s Deputy Climate Advisor.
