Two new fast-charging stations for electric have been installed at parking structures at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In contrast to traditional charging stations, which can take four to eight hours to charge a vehicle, fast-charging stations can charge the vehicles in 30 to 90 minutes. The Nissan Leaf and Mitsubishi I-MiEV cars are compatible with the stations. There is no additional cost for charging. ABB Inc. in New Berlin manufactures the fast charging stations. The UWM stations are the third and fourth fast chargers in the state; the others are at ABB’s plant and in Madison.
