The US Conferene of Mayors Energy Policy Committee held a summit to explore the growth of smart cities, business partnerships for a new energy economy, energy infrastructure, and energy assurance and preparedness, as well as to discuss achieving the 100-percent mayoral renewable energy commitment. The meeting was held in New Bedford, Mass. September 14-15, where there is more installed solar capacity on a per capita basis than any other city in the continental United States other than San Diego.
