The City of La Crosse Mayor, Tim Kabat, launched a clean energy challenge on September 17 to encourage 100 homeowners to improve their energy efficiency and help to reduce the city’s carbon footprint. The City, Xcel Energy and Focus on Energy are partnering to offer up to $4,100 in incentives collectively toward energy efficiency improvements based on the percentage reduction in energy use of the improvements. Also, the City is providing personalized assistance to homeowners with the process through their planning department and has compiled a list of certified contractors for residents to choose from. lacrossetribune
