Daimler Ends Its Era of Gasoline

Daimler, a German automotive company, announced that it will no longer develop internal combustion engine vehicles, gasoline or diesel. Already, they offer an extensive selection of electric vans, small trucks, big rigs, and buses, but this shift will make electric vehicles (EV) their main focus. Daimler suggests that, by 2030, half the vehicles they have sold will be EV’s or hybrids.

Other car companies such as Volkswagen and Geely, formerly known as Smart, also have announced their transition to developing EV’s exclusively. Mercedes Benz and BMW plan to phase out combustion engines at a slower pace as they continue to develop EVs. ExtremeTechInsideEVs
