A research team at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada working closely with Tesla, has tested lithium-ion battery cell chemistry expected to power an EV for more than 1 million miles and last at least two decades in grid storage. Tesla vehicles are built, tested, and validated for 1 million miles of driving, but the battery packs they rely on currently are not.
