Madeline Island Recycling Solar Arrays

A 22.8 kW roof-mounted solar PV array at the Madeline Island Materials Recovery Center to supply all of the electricity for their operations such as glass crushing. The $50,000 array was funded through multiple sources including: $25,000 -Wisconsin Office of Energy Innovation; $4,000 -Focus on Energy; $1500 -Apostle Islands Area Community Fund. The remainder was provided by the La Pointe town board. The system will be separate from the LaPointe Resilience Project planned microgrid due to its distance from utility infrastructure. The town board just approved the next two PV installations for 2018 that will become part of the microgrid.
