Vernon Electric Cooperative (VEC) partnered with Clean Energy Collective (CEC), a national community solar developer, on a community-owned utility-scale solar project in Wisconsin. Located at their headquarters in Westby, WI, any member in VECs territory had the opportunity to own individual panels in the PV array and to be credited directly for their share of the power produced on their monthly utility bills. The 305 kW solar farm consists of 1001 panels that were all sold within 2 weeks. The project broke ground in April 2014 and became operational June 2014.
