Dane County Completed Largest Single Customer Owned Solar Array in Wisconsin

Dane County and Madison Gas & Electric (MGE) just completed the largest solar PV system in Wisconsin owned by a single customer. The 9 MW solar field is located on 58 acres of Dane County Regional Airport land. Dane County leased the land to MGE for the solar array and is buying the clean power from them  The solar array made up of bifacial solar panels on trackers to maximize generation will supply carbon-free electricity for 40 percent of Dane County operations. It will eliminate carbon emissions equivalent of 2,700 cars or the burning of 7,000 tons of coal annually. See video
