WI Farm Saving Big from Energy Efficient Grain Dryer

Ter-Rae Farms in St. Croix County installed an energy efficient grain dryer that will save enough energy to power 18 Wisconsin homes for a year and more than $15,000 a year on energy costs. The farm worked with Focus Trade Ally contractor Lodermeier’s Inc. to purchase and install the new grain dryer. They received a $35,000 incentive from Focus on Energy and $4,000 from Xcel Energy, their utility provider. Avoided energy costs over the lifetime of the grain dryer are expected to be more $250,000. Wisconsin State Farmerfocusonenergy
